Indirect discrimination

May 2004

Through hypothetical case studies on sex discrimination and a discussion of related case law, this PGM discusses issues arising in indirect discrimination. Further discussion focuses on the new definitions of indirect race discrimination, introduced under the Race Relations Act 1976 (Amendment) Regulations 2003, which give effect to the EC Race Directive. Karon Monaghan presents a paper on the new provisions relating to indirect discrimination and race. Notes regarding the case studies and discussion are also available.
